Ralph Henry Carless Davis

7 Ekim 1918’de Oxford’da doğdu. Yükseköğrenimini Balliol College’da tamamladı. University College London ve Merton College’da bir süre ders verdikten sonra Birmingham Üniversitesi’nde profesör oldu. 1975’te British Academy’ye seçildi. Orta Çağ ve Avrupa tarihi üzerine birçok kitap yazdı ve derledi. 1991’de vefat etti.
